Winner: Climate Camp-2022 Climatepreneur Award

Craft With Care.
Crafted from Nature.

The word “Aicha” (আইচা) means the shell of a coconut — traditionally treated as discarded agro-waste. We recycle these shells in Barisal, empowering rural craft communities to replace single-use plastic with timeless living art.

National Recognition

Winner of Climate Camp-2022 in "Climatepreneur" Category

Organized by The Earth Society and Climate Parliament Bangladesh, Aicha was honored for its circular economy model — transforming agricultural waste into sustainable lifestyle products while providing sustainable livelihoods for rural women and artisans.

The Environmental Threat

Why Coconut Shell? Solving the Plastic Crisis

80%

Marine Plastic Pollution

Plastic makes up 80% of all marine pollution. 8 to 10 million metric tons of plastic enter our oceans every year, endangering aquatic species.

22.25 kg/yr

Per Capita Plastic in Dhaka

According to the World Bank, annual per-capita plastic consumption in Dhaka is 22.25 kg, leading to catastrophic urban waterlogging and toxic waste.

3,000 Tons/day

Daily Plastic Waste in BD

According to the DoE, Bangladesh generates around 3,000 tons of plastic waste every single day. Aicha provides natural, compostable household alternatives.

Manufacturing in Barisal: Empowering Rural Communities

We established our production setup in the riverine Barisal division of southern Bangladesh, where mature coconuts are grown abundantly.

We collect locally available raw shells and craft them using custom-engineered precision machinery and traditional hand carving. By engaging local craftsmen, rural homemakers, and craftswomen, Aicha generates vital supplemental livelihoods and empowers regional artisan families.
